Golf Cart Insurance
August 17th, 2009Now, for the most part, golf carts are for going from the clubhouse to the first tee, and continuing on for 18 more holes until the round is finished and the cart is returned to the clubhouse. Increasingly, however, as America’s population ages, and more and more retirees move to large golfing communities in places like Phoenix, and Orlando, golf carts are asked to much more than just traverse the course.
That is because an increasing number of people are choosing to purchase their own carts. More often than not, these folks live on the course, and use these carts to not just transport them around the course, but to get to the clubhouse before the round, and possibly stop at the grocery store on the way home. New, larger, golfing communities are now home to many residents that travel down the street in their golf carts, and why not? With sunny weather, and the free time that retirees enjoy, there is no reason not to use the golf cart as a primary mode of transportation. It is better for the environment, too.
Of course, with increased usage comes increased risk. The seemingly harmless golf cart can actually cause a fair bit of damage, if driven irresponsibly, and should be insured.
